Our Commitment to Community
MidWestOne Bank’s headquarters has called 102 S. Clinton Street in downtown Iowa City home since opening in 1934. For more than 90 years, MidWestOne has supported initiatives in our local markets like the Iowa City Downtown District (ICDD) and their establishment of a Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District in 2012.
The bank continued to invest in downtown and support the ICDD by becoming the inaugural sponsor of their CoSign+ program, launched in 2016. The program, created by the National Sign Museum, gives businesses the opportunity to earn up to a $3,500 grant match for pedestrian signage and storefront enhancement projects. ICDD has granted funding to over 15 storefronts and unveiled over 30 pedestrian-oriented signs in Downtown Iowa City. More than 80 total businesses, including Daydream Comics, Prairie Lights, Molly’s Cupcakes and Textiles have received grants through the CoSign+ program.
In November, 2024 MidWestOne Bank committed to $5.7 billion in consumer, mortgage, and commercial loans, and $5.5 million in local philanthropic support and sponsorships over the next 5 years in communities throughout Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. “Our culture of supporting local families and businesses is integral to our values. To be trusted year after year to provide much needed financial support to our communities and customers is a responsibility we don’t take lightly,” said Len Devaisher, President and Chief Operating Officer of MidWestOne Financial Group, Inc. “In addition, our employees are committed to the communities we serve and consistently give back with their time. That is a key part of our culture.”
MidWestOne donated 6,700 hours to nearly 300 organizations over the course of 2024. In celebration of the company’s 90th anniversary, October 8 was the Inaugural MidWestOne Community Day where 636 employees volunteered across their communities and donated 2,144 volunteer hours in a single day. MidWestOne Community Day will be an annual event.
