MidWestOne Bank Foundation
The MidWestOne Bank Foundation has given more than $2.6 million back to our communities since it was established in 2001. We support non-profits, institutions, schools and organizations that benefit the greater good.
Thank you for your interest in applying for a grant. Our spring grant cycle will open on December 1, 2025, and we’ll be accepting applications through January 15, 2026. We encourage you to apply at that time.
Giving Priorities
Our giving is guided by three focus areas:
Community Development & Services
- Support local economic development to build the community & support its people.
- Funding priorities: Community facilities, economic development, and food & housing insecurity.
Arts & Culture
- Support local artists and cultural initiatives that create vibrant communities.
- Funding priorities: Museums, cultural programs, historical preservation, festivals, and performing arts.
Youth & Education
- Support financial literacy and the pursuit of higher education.
- Funding priorities: Youth programming, early education, mentoring, and college readiness.
Funding Cycles
Our spring funding cycle is reviewed by the Foundation, in February. Applications must be submitted during the application acceptance windows to be eligible for consideration.
Key Dates
- Applications accepted December 1 through January 15
- Application deadline: January 15
- Applicants will receive a decision by mid- to late-February
Apply for a Grant
In addition to emphasis on our focus areas, we predominantly support capital and building campaigns that create long lasting benefits in the communities where we live and work. We prioritize applications that include:
- Requests that fall within one of our funding priority areas.
- Enthusiastic endorsement from a MidWestOne Bank employee or board member.
- Projects serving underrepresented communities and low- and moderate-income. According to the Community Reinvestment Act, low-income is defined as a median family income of less than 50 percent of the area median income. A moderate-income community means that the median family income is at least 50 percent and less than 80 percent of the area median income.
Applications not eligible for funding
- Projects outside our company footprint.
- One time event or event sponsorship.
- General operating expense requests.
- Lobbying or political organizations.
- Individual fundraising.
