Frequently Asked Questions

Personal Online Banking

Can I log in for the first time on the app?

No. Please visit www.midwestone.bank from your computer or mobile device's browser to log in the first time.

Can I use my fingerprint to login?

Yes. After logging in the first time, tap Profile > Profile Updates > Authorized Device Enrollment to set up biometric login.

Can I keep my old password?

You will need to set a new password during the first-time login. The password requirements are at least 9 characters, one capital letter, one lower case letter, and one number. 

Will my recurring transfers continue?

Recurring transfers are expected to convert. Please check the “Create/Edit Transfer” option under the “Transfer” menu to verify everything is showing up correctly after logging in for the first time.

Will I have access to my statements prior to September 12, 2022?

Yes, however, it may take 30 or more days for historical statements issued prior to September 12, 2022, to be available in online banking. Once the conversion process is complete, 18 months of history will be available.

Why isn’t my transaction list showing in online/mobile banking?

While your account balance information is correct, your transaction list from September 12 and earlier is in the process of being added to your accounts. We expect this information to be available no later than end of day Friday, September 16.

Will mobile deposit be available?

Yes. After logging into the app, tap the Deposits icon and follow the on-screen prompts. The standard daily mobile deposit limit is $5,000.

Bill Pay

Will my bill payment information convert?

Bill Pay payees and recurring transfers are expected to convert. Bill Pay history will not convert. We encourage you to review their Bill Pay biller and transfer list to ensure everything looks correct after logging in the first time.

Debit Cards

Will I get a new debit card?

You may continue using your existing debit card. At a future date, you will receive a MidWestOne-branded MasterCard.

 

Mobile Wallets

Will I need to re-add my card to the mobile wallet on my phone?

If you’re using a mobile wallet on your phone (Google Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay), you will not need to re-add your existing debit card to your mobile wallet.

What mobile wallets are supported?

MidWestOne supports access to Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay. 

 

Zelle

What is Zelle?

Zelle is a person-to-person (P2P) transfer service that allows you to pay anyone in the U.S. with only their email address or phone number. Most transfers are instant (received within minutes). There is no fee to use this service.

How do I enroll in Zelle?

Website: Click the Zelle link in the main menu at the top of the screen.

App: Tap the hamburger menu (3 lines in upper right corner) then tap Zelle. *Note: you must have a U.S. tax ID number, be 18 years or older, and have a checking account to use Zelle. .

 

External Transfers

What is the external transfer feature?

The External Transfer service allows you to transfer funds between your own accounts at MidWestOne and other U.S. financial institutions where you have deposit accounts. There are no fees for incoming or outgoing transfers. A one-time set-up is required to add new accounts, then transfers will occur within 1-3 business days.

Can I use this to transfer money to other people?

No. External transfers cannot be used to transfer money to accounts owned by other people. If you need to pay other people, please use Zelle or Bill Pay.
